George Rhea Nash (1899-1991) and Isabelle Ellen Brown (1898-1984) moved into this house at 200 Montrose Street in Bluefield after they were married in 1924, and never left. All of their children were raised there in the ensuing 65 years. With only two bedrooms, all four boys had to sleep in the same room. Across from Bluestone Creek and next to the railroad tracks, George could watch the Norfolk & Western trains go by from the front porch, long after he retired. The basement always contained shelves and shelves of Isabelle's canned vegetables and fruits, and the old coal storage room was still in tact when it was sold.
