Crockett is another old town nestled along the narrow backroads of Wythe County. Crockett used to be a booming industrial and tourist town. Like all old Virginia towns, it is along the railroad, where there are still the remnants of the old kraut factory. Up on a hill overlooking the town is the old church, and down the street and around a mountain curve is what is left of an old lithia springs resort. And yes, the town was named for the Crocketts who lived there!
